Description
Seeing the Joshusa tree is an indication you are in the Mojave desert. They also grow in the Sonoran Desert in Western Arizona and the San Bernandino mountains.
By desert standards these are fast growing. They grow about 1.5 inches per year, and can live for hundreds of years. Some trees have lived 1,000 years.
The joshusa tree were named by Mormons who were reminded of the bible story where Joshusa lifted his hand to the sky in prayer.
