The Hotel Roosevelt opened in May 1927. Built at the cost of 2.5 million dollars, which would be 34.1 million dollars in today's economy, The Hotel Roosevelt became "THE" place to be and numerous celebrities frequented the hotel. The infamous Hollywood Walk of Fame is just outside the front door. In 1929 the first academy award was hosted here.
Some of the notable residents include Clark Gable, Marilyn Monroe, Montgomery Cliff. Elizabeth Patterson lived there during her 35 year film career. There has been some paranormal activity associated with the hotel, with sightings of Marilyn Monroe, Errol Flynn, Montgomery Cliff. Also there have been reports of a little girl in blue, cold spots and photographic orbs.
The Hotel Roosevelt is featured in many films, and Hollywood night life.
BETTER LATE THAN NEVER TO CHASE ONE'S DREAM I spent 25 years working on tractor trailer trucks and am now pursuing my dream of Photography. I grew up in South Louisiana, lived in Nashville and when I met my wife, we both chased our dreams to the West Coast. We are now living in Los Angeles County. We are happy, healthy, goal-oriented and LOVE being alive. I love the drama of black and white photos, and have color copies of all of my black and whites, so if you see something you like but would like to see it in color--or vice versa--please ask. I aim to please!
